Our Story
We Love Seasons is inspired by my Danish family traditions and a lifelong love of timeless design, seasonal living and the meaningful moments shared throughout the year.
As a child growing up in Denmark, one of my favourite moments was opening the seasonal decoration boxes that had been carefully stored away since the previous year. Inside are handmade decorations made by my mother, together with the same Christmas baubles, flags and paper drums that my father decorated the tree with as a child and that are still used by our family today. Year after year, these cherished decorations are brought out and displayed alongside a few thoughtfully chosen new additions, creating a collection that grows with each season while keeping traditions alive.
The treasured decorations and traditions I grew up with taught me the value of choosing pieces timeless pieces that can be enjoyed for many years. Frustrated by the throwaway culture surrounding seasonal decorations and home décor, I founded We Love Seasons to create timeless products that become part of family traditions, rather than being replaced each season.
I grew up in a creative home where making, growing and creating were part of everyday life. My mother could often be found in the vegetable garden, knitting, painting or working at her sewing machine. Having learned to make clothes from her grandmother at the age of 14, she spent decades creating handmade clothes for my sister and me. My father was equally skilled at DIY, and together they were always working on projects around the home and garden, or making cordials, jams and pickles using produce grown in the garden.
Towards the middle of November, my mother would begin preparing our home for Christmas, starting with bringing out the decoration boxes that had been used year after year. Red felt hearts would hang by the entrance, alongside hand-painted figurines and handmade decorations created from stones dressed with knitted scarves and hats.
Each year, she would add a few new decorations, make fresh pine garlands for the dining room doors, create the traditional advent wreath and prepare the advent candle decoration. The final and most important part was, of course, the Christmas tree, decorated by my father with traditional red baubles, lights, drums, Danish flags and fine strands of gold lametta.
At Easter, the table would be beautifully styled with yellow crocheted napkins, wooden Easter chicks and homemade Danish dishes shared with family and friends. My mother would fill vases with branches collected from the garden and decorate them with hand-painted eggs to create the traditional Easter tree.
Being surrounded by creativity, craftsmanship and seasonal living from an early age continues to inspire the We Love Seasons collections today. Inspired by nature, the garden and Scandinavian interiors, our seasonal decorations and home décor collections are thoughtfully designed and curated to be enjoyed year after year. We believe in choosing timeless pieces and adding to them gradually, rather than reinventing a new theme every season.
Whether decorating for Christmas, Easter, autumn or everyday living, our aim is to help customers create homes filled with warmth, beauty and meaningful traditions that can be enjoyed for years to come.
It is my hope that our products become part of the seasonal decoration box that is brought down from the loft and rediscovered year after year, carrying with them the stories, traditions and memories of seasons past.
